| My Uncle Jack Died on January 30th, 2012. Born December 22nd, 1919. He Served during WWII as a Sergeant in the 833rd Airborne Engineers (IX Command Mobile Warfare). Jack participated in the advanced invasion into Normandy and landed on Omaha Beach in June of 1944. Sergeant Jack Saretsky served his country with great distinction and was awarded four bronze stars. Uncle Jack was a fine measure of a man. A real Tough MAN who never dropped sweat on the small things in life. Never complained, just got on with the day! Never bothered anyone and peacefully died. His mind was solid and in tact up to the day he died. I will never forget one of my best days in 2011 when Jack and I drank a bottle of brandy, smoked cigars, and he told of his WWII experiences. RIP Uncle Jack. May God keep you on a smooth path! |
